How and why I signed up to Wealthy Affiliate

I came across Wealthy Affiliate by accident. I was watching some random videos on YouTube when an advert came on telling me how I could work from home, be my own boss, earn millions etc you know the type. I followed the link out of interest, to be presented with more videos, they were interesting but I soon learnt that if I wanted to know more then I’d have to part with a lot of cash and I’m talking £1000’s! No thanks. During my research this is where I came across Wealthy Affiliate. It was free to join, no card details needed, so I thought what the heck do it. Here’s my link if you wish to join me: Sign Up to Wealthy Affiliate

First impressions:

Pros – really good content, videos are so easy to follow. Friendly people, good sense of community, lots of offers to help. Vast amount of useful content, all for free, what’s the catch? Much encouragement from the owners Kyle and Carson.

Cons – Navigation a little confusing in terms of leaving comments and where you left them. This does get easier. A count down timer for a discount on Premium membership, hmm they are after my money already?

…and up to day 14

Wow it’s been a real roller-coaster! I’ve had positive moments of so much excitement to get started that I have hardly slept, to equally negative moments of thinking of logging off for good.

During the first 5 days or so I went through Level 1 of the Online Entrepreneur Certification training, I found the videos very easy to follow and informative too. Having the videos makes it so much easier and quicker to follow. I was really surprised at all the features the WA website has to offer, everything is in-house from the training, to creating a new domain, to hosting. I’ve been there got the t-shirt before with creating websites, it can be time-consuming, confusing, and expensive. During this time I also spoke personal coach many times, he gave me lots of useful tips. If you are wondering what a personal coach is, it’s someone you can always contact if you are in need of help or advice. You cannot change this person, it is the person where you got your referral from. If you sign up using my link here then I will be your personal coach. After 6 days I decided to sign up to Premium membership as I was really enjoying the site and learning a lot, regardless of whether it would actually turn out to be fruitful or not.

After a week I decided to test out contacting one of the site owners, Kyle. Kyle and Carson who own WA promise to always be there on hand to assist if needed. Kyle is the guy who creates all the training content, whereas Carson is more being the scenes doing the technical stuff. I imagine they are very busy guys but they promise to help. So I sent Kyle a private message just to check this out. A week later I’ve not had a response. I’ve read normally 2-3 days response is likely but sadly I’ve had nothing yet.

During my second week I hit a bit of a crossroads. Let me explain something first. WA will train you on how to build a successful website and generate income from affiliate links or advertising. This is what the Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) training is for. However, they also have their own affiliate scheme where you can promote WA, this is what Affiliate Bootcamp training. The recommendation is to pursue only one avenue at a time.

I had already completed Level 1 of OEC, but I wanted to ‘promote’ WA also which meant I needed to do my Affiliate Bootcamp training. I say ‘promote’ because at the moment I may not have much to shout about in the way of promoting. But a few months down the line could be different, I have to start somewhere. For this reason from now on I will only be continuing with Affiliate Bootcamp training and my references will be about that, until I say otherwise.

That’s pretty much where I am at today. What you see right here is where I am at. I have bought in to the Premium membership, I have bought a couple of URLs, that’s it.

So in answer to is Wealthy Affiliate a scam? At the moment I’d say no, but I’m on the fence as to whether the training will offer what I need to generate an income that is worth the time that I am putting in. Only time will tell on this. Hopefully you will benefit from my blog as you will be able to see what happens on a regular basis, how much time I’ve spent, and the outcome from it.

If you like what you are reading so-far and you’d like me to be your personal coach then you can sign up HERE – PROMO OFFER – you can sign up to Premium for just $19 which is about £15 to us UK folk, for the first month.

14/07/19 The Wealthy Affiliate adventure starts here!

Is the Wealthy Affiliate a scam? I am hoping to answer your question! You may have already come across Wealthy Affiliate and wondered if it is a scam or legit. The point of this blog website is show my experience of Wealthy Affiliate right from the beginning…and who knows how far in to the future? Chances are you’ve seen dozens of websites where there is someone claiming to earning £100000’s from working anywhere in the world, how wonderful it is, how you can do the same etc… I can tell you now that at the point of writing this (July 2019) I have earned ZERO! Nada! Nothing! But that is simply because I haven’t done anything to earn. It’s a stick in the ground! The journey starts here…

Important note: please keep in mind this is my experience which will be different to yours. I work in IT but have very little experience in affiliate marketing, SEO knowledge etc. I only have about 1 or maybe 2 hours per day to work on Wealthy Affiliate (WA). I have written this blog to give you an honest insight to WA from my perspective.

Who are Wealthy Affiliate and what do they offer?

In a nutshell Wealthy Affiliate is a kind of all-in-one training and hosting platform suitable for beginners and I suspect useful to those who are more advanced. The principal idea is to train members to create useful content rich websites that will drive in web traffic and thus convert this traffic to an income via affiliate links and adverts.

Wealthy Affiliate also offer their own affiliate scheme if you wish to promote it to others.

Learn what is affiliate marketing

You may be wondering what is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is a way of earning a commission on a company’s products or services. Perhaps you have already looked at something similar like drop shipping wholesalers, this is even better. Affiliate marketing does not involve selling any goods, customer services, returns etc.

My journey

I’d like to point out that I have no experience of any other similar ‘affiliate marketing training programs’ that may be out there, so I am not biased, this is just my journey.  I will update this website of a regular basis so that prospective members can follow my progress and perhaps join too. I would like to point out a couple of important notes about Wealthy Affiliate before I start. Firstly, it is free to join, no credit card etc. You can get a real feel for how it works, the community, the training etc. You can even host a couple of websites for free.

Perhaps you’re inpatient and want to sign up now? That’s fine and I would actually recommend it. But before you do – if you sign up via my link you will have me as your personal mentor! Once you’ve signed up that’s it you cannot change your mentor. Also if you ever decide to join me and upgrade to Premium membership you’ll be supporting me as I will earn commission on that. Hey – that’s what this is all about right?! And as a thank you…

Discounted first month offer just $19 if you choose to upgrade to Premium!
